Webinar: Domestic Violence Awareness Month

In Canada, we acknowledge November as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. To honor and recognize this time, we will hold a webinar to create a space for speakers to talk about their journeys, and varying support resources for instances of domestic violence. Join us in this conversation to learn more about systemic barriers that put equity-deserving communities at higher risk of violence, and how we can work toward eliminating these barriers around us.
Speakers:
Premila Chellapermal
Premila has worked in the violence against women sector in multiple jurisdictions and projects, including in the criminal justice and legal sector, shelter services, and crisis and community services. She has an MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice and an interest in intersectional gender-based violence research. She is currently leading projects with WomanACT on senior women’s experiences of gender-based violence, and on intersections between employment and safety among racialized women in Toronto.
