Jillian is an internationally recognized intersectional feminist, successful policy maker and decolonial legal academic who currently lives in Paris, France.
She spent over a decade on the unsurrendered territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin People in Ottawa where she worked in the government, not-for-profit and political spheres, with a focus on advancing gender equality, managing projects and teams.
Before moving to Paris, Jillian gained her LLM in Gender Studies and Law in London UK. Her studies focused on decolonizing international legal systems, addressing white supremacy within feminism, creating feminist interpretations of the laws of war and naturalizing the migration ecosystem.
Jillian was raised on the unceded traditional territory of the Tsimshian, as well as the unceded traditional territory of the Gidimten Clan and the Witsuwit'en people, in northern Canada.
Jillian is proudly bilingual in English and French and is able to effectively work in both languages.
