Bridgette Sterling is a DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) consultant, instructional designer, and speaker with nearly a decade of experience embedding inclusive workplace practices and sustainable learning programs that enable equity-deserving communities to excel.
She has advanced equitable employment outcomes across over 15 sectors, including higher education, non-profit, sport, healthcare, e-commerce, and finance, to organizations of all sizes, from multinational sport leagues to hospitals with over 3,000 employees. She brings expertise in inclusive hiring, universal design, and organizational capacity building. Her work is informed by her intersecting identities as a queer person with disabilities and a mixed Middle Eastern and Canadian heritage.
Bridgette holds a Bachelor's in Global Business and Digital Arts from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Design from OCAD University, where her research used design thinking to explore barriers to inclusion and psychological safety in hockey. She has completed a gender equity and youth mental health research fellowship and been engaged as a speaker and mentor on similar topics. Prior to joining CEC, Bridgette supported a national leader in disability by leading inclusion training and capacity building to a diverse business portfolio alongside governmental policy advocacy. She has regularly taught and designed courses that focused on equitable employment and accessibility for a Canadian college.
Outside of work, you can find her meditating with her puppy, Jupiter.
