Soni has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta, and her Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Victoria. She has a certificate in gender studies and human rights from Oxford University.
When in Toronto, Soni was involved in supporting social innovation, and philanthropy work at the community level with organizations such as the City of Toronto, United Way Toronto, Laidlaw and Maytree Foundations. Soni also worked as a senior project manager with the Government of Ontario and as a consultant with the United Nations.
Over the past four years, since returning to Edmonton she has worked with the Government of Alberta, is core team member at the Edmonton ShiftLab 1.0, was a grants coordinator at the Edmonton Heritage Council, and is currently a lead consultant with Canadian Equality. Soni is keen to map Alberta’s ecosystems to find, contribute and create spaces of social innovation.

GBA+ is an equity tool that helps you to identify who benefits and who may be unintentionally excluded or harmed in your work. We conduct customized GBA+ training and full-scale GBA+ assessments. This tool is a requirement of government but is applicable to all sectors and organizations.
Workshops are offered in person or live online. We design and customize the workshops to directly meet the needs of our clients, incorporate interactive impactful experiential elements and are developed in accordance with adult learning best practices.
A baseline assessment determines your current state of DEI and provides a thorough intersectional analysis of your diversity, gaps, risks, challenges and opportunities. Assessments provide you with actionable recommendations to make impactful positive change. All of our assessments are conducted using an intersectional DEI lens and change management principles.
