Makda is a recent graduate from the University of Calgary, earning her Bachelor of Arts Honours in Political Science.
Informed largely by principles of equality, diversity and intersectional representation, Makda has developed a deep commitment to advancing the interests of women, particularly Black, Indigenous, and Women of Colour. With experience in government and nongovernmental sectors, she has developed a robust and sincere understanding of organizational structures, systems, and processes.
Makda is a relentless advocate for women, committed to intersectionality and anti racism work. In 2016, she was awarded with the Emerging Excellence award from the Government of Alberta, as well as the 2015 Persons Case Award.
Makda is eager to begin her Masters degree in Political Science and Public Policy in the near future.
