Chantelle is a strategic and analytical innovator, committed to strengthening the capacity of domestic and international governments, NGOs, and corporations seeking to deliver on their commitments to gender equity, accessibility, diversity, anti-racism, and inclusion.
At Canadian Equality Consulting (CEC), Chantelle is responsible for undertaking qualitative and qualitative analysis and research, evaluating organizational policies and processes, and developing customized gender and intersectional equity mainstreaming tools. Her goal at CEC is to work closely and effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to inspire them to be accountable and proactive DEI change leaders who can critically identify and analyze the mechanisms and environments that simultaneously perpetuate and maintain inequality, privilege, discrimination, sexual harassment, and bullying in institutional structures, processes, cultures, and norms – with the aim of devising SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely) solutions to undo them.
She possesses over 9+ years of diverse human rights, gender equality, and international development experience as an advisor, facilitator, and trainer leading sustainable transformative change through the development, planning and implementation of relevant strategies, action plans, policies, workshops, and training programs across the international development and public sectors in South America, Oceania, Africa, and North America.
Chantelle’s areas of specialization include: gender-based, decolonizing and intersectional analytical frameworks; core international human rights instruments; policy, training, and strategy design; intersectional equity audits; and gender equality training.
When she is not facilitating focus groups or undertaking organizational policy reviews, Chantelle can be found in the kitchen experimenting with recipes, moving to the beat of the conga drum in an Afro Flow Yoga session, or sourcing unconventional materials to create mixed-media paintings.
GBA+ is a powerful intersectional equity tool that can be applied to any kind of work. We conduct customized GBA+ training and full-scale GBA+ assessments. This tool is a requirement of government but is applicable to all sectors and organizations.
A baseline assessment determines your current state of DEI and provides a thorough analysis of your diversity, intersectionality, gaps, risks, challenges and opportunities. Assessments provide you with actionable recommendations to make impactful positive change.
Using a combination of your organization’s DEI data and industry best practices, we will build a tailored and integrated DEI strategy. We also offer implementation support to ensure you move the dial.
